Why it is OK to be a ‘green van man’

It is likely that vans will follow the example of cars like the Smart and hybrid and go totally ‘green’. Many of these van owners are sole-traders, or part or a larger company fleet.

Larger companies could make huge savings by operating a revolving policy and gradually replacing there out of date models. It would not be such a bad plan to embrace the new technology and gradually faze out the old. The amount of money that companies spend on their fuel bills must be staggering. The impact on running costs is likely to be huge if a switch is made to newer ‘greener’ technology.

It is vital to minimise cost when starting a new business, and choosing this direction is likely to eventually be a winner. However, if you are an existing sole trader it is understandable difficult to expect you to trade in your reliable gas-guzzler for an ‘experimental’ one that will run on vegetable oil. If it can possibly save you some much needed capital, and help to prolong the vital resources of the Earth, then it has to be sensible.

Driving one of these types of vans means you are trying to help, which is certainly no bad thing as everyone needs to do a little to help the environment. A fresh attitude is need from the people of this planet, which is going to be tough, but not impossible. Real progress can be made if people work together to promote sustainable methods and reject the old environmentally unfriendly methods of transport.

In my opinion, van leasing has been an option out there for many years now and can provide a much cheaper way to achieve what everyone wants. Whether or not Fiat van leasing and Iveco van leasing are going to be involved in the process remains to be seen, but if there is demand then they are sure to recognise this and follow the pattern!
